Il giorno 16 aprile è stato comunicato dalle autorità italiane il “trasferimento” dell’orsa DJ3 in Germania. DJ3 è rinchiusa da 10 anni in una vera e propria prigione grande qualche decina di metri quadrati all’interno del centro faunistico Casteller in Trentino. Motivo della sua detenzione è la sua presunta pericolosità stabilita da un tribunale a seguito della predazione di una pecora avvenuta diversi anni fa. Cosí, il 25 aprile 2021, è stata deportata in Germania presso il “Alternativer Wolf- Und Barenpark Schwarzwald”, parco alternativo della Foresta Nera, lo stesso dove fu trasferita l’orsa Jurka nel 2010. Uno zoo turistico che nel 2020 contava sei orsi e tre lupi in un terreno di soltanto 10 ettari. Il parco è un vero e proprio zoo con tanto di visitatori paganti, dove ogni animale ha meno di un ettaro a disposizione per muoversi.
Negli stessi giorni il tribunale di Trento ha cancellato un’ordinanza che disponeva la cattura immediata di un’altra orsa, JJ4, colpevole, secondo lo stato di aver difeso i suoi cuccioli. Ovviamente non possiamo cantare vittoria; il sistema specista, con i suoi tribunali, lascia comunque aperta per lei e per tuttx le/gli altrx orsi ancora in libertà la strada per una futura possibile cattura e detenzione.
Viene poi confermata invece per l’orso M57 la sentenza secondo la quale rimarrà rinchiuso ancora fino a data incerta.
Crediamo che, per sovvertire questa concezione autoritaria di dominazione dell’umano sulla Terra e i suoi abitanti, sia necessaria una lotta che comprenda l’utilizzo di ogni mezzo necessario, senza preoccuparsi di quello che potrebbe pensare l’opinione pubblica in merito alle nostre azioni e pensieri, che sotto la spinta dei media vengono percepiti spesso come troppo radicali per il semplice fatto di puntare a una reale liberazione. I cortei e i presidi, come quelli avvenuti in questo ultimo periodo, posso essere un buon inizio, ma perdere il focus dell’efficacia in favore della questione mediatica stanca le persone che partecipano e le fa giustamente sentire impotenti, perché non si può limitate il nostro agire entro quello che viene deciso da altrx.
Sarà quindi auspicabile incontrarsi, mantenendo il punto fisso sull’obbiettivo di chiudere Casteller e liberare tuttx le/gli orsx, per discutere su come poter allargare il più possibile questa lotta mantenendo però la specificità di ogni gruppo, che possa rimanere libero di agire senza ostacolare gli altri. Ricordando sempre che non ha senso doversi piegare al compromesso del “bravo cittadino”, che chiede favori alle istituzioni e non osa spingersi oltre quanto gli viene concesso. Contro il sistema specista occorrono azioni che siano qualcosa di più che slogan o atti di “coraggio umano“ buoni per essere mediatizzati. Perché solo tenendo sempre alto il livello di conflittualità potremo ottenere dei risultati e cominciare a liberare questx prigionierx, che sono pochx rispetto a tuttx gli/le altrx esseri umani e non presenti sulla Terra che vengono oppressx da questo sistema capitalista e specista.

On April 16th, the Italian authorities announced the “transfer” of the bear DJ3 to Germany. DJ3 has been imprisoned for 10 years in a real prison (a few dozen square meters wide) inside the wildlife center Casteller in Trentino. The reason for her detention is her presumed dangerousness established by a court following the predation of a sheep several years ago. Thus, on April 25th, 2021, she was deported to Germany to the “Alternativer Wolf- Und Barenpark Schwarzwald”, an alternative park in the Black Forest, the same where the bear Jurka was transferred in 2010. A tourist zoo that in 2020 had six bears and three wolves in an area of only 10 hectares. The park is a real zoo with lots of paying visitors, where each animal has less than one hectare to move.
In the same days the court of Trento cancelled an order that ordered the immediate capture of another bear, JJ4, guilty, according to the state, of having defended her cubs. Obviously we can not claim victory; the speciest system, with its courts, still leaves open, for her and for all the other bears still in the wild, the way for a possible future capture and detention.
It is then confirmed for the bear M57 the sentence according to which he will remain locked up until an uncertain date.
We believe that, in order to overthrow this authoritarian conception of human domination over the Earth and its inhabitants, a fight is necessary that includes the use of all means necessary, without worrying about what the public opinion might think about our actions and thoughts, which under the pressure of the media are often perceived as too radical for the simple fact of aiming to a real liberation. Demonstrations and protests, like the ones that took place in this last period, can be a good start, but losing the focus of effectiveness in favor of the media issue tires the people who participate and makes them rightly feel powerless, because we cannot limit our actions within what is decided by others.
It will therefore be desirable to meet, keeping the focus on the goal of closing Casteller and freeing all the bears, to discuss how to expand this struggle as much as possible while maintaining the specificity of each group, which can remain free to act without hindering others. Always remembering that it makes no sense to have to bend to the compromise of the “good citizen”, who asks for favors from institutions and does not dare to go beyond what is granted. Against the speciest system we need actions that are something more than slogans or acts of “human courage” good to be used by the media. Because only by keeping the level of conflict high we will be able to obtain results and begin to free these prisoners, who are few compared to all the other human and non-human beings on Earth who are oppressed by this capitalist and speciest system.
